دنیا میں غم اور خوشی دونوں ہیں۔ اگر کوئی ہر طرح کی خوشی حاصل کرنا چاہتا ہے اور اسے کسی بھی طرح مصائب کا سامنا نہیں کرنا پڑتا ہے تو ، کیا یہ ہوسکتا ہے؟ کچھ غریب لاچار لوگ اپنی حالت کے بارے میں ہمیشہ کہتے ہیں کہ انہیں خواب میں بھی کبھی سکون نہیں ملا۔ یہ ایک مکمل غلطی ہے۔ اگر آپ کسی ایسے شخص کو دیکھیں جو خود سے زیادہ غریب اور بے بس ہے تو حقیقت بھی واضح ہے۔ قناعت عظیم دولت ہے۔ مبارک ہے وہ جو برائی سے بچتا ہے۔ دولت مند ہونے اور اسے گناہ میں برباد کرنے کا کیا فائدہ؟ دیانتداری سے زندگی گزاریں اور اپنی بیوی اور بچوں کا خیال رکھیں تاکہ آپ کا مقدر بہتر ہو۔

 

There are both sorrows and happiness in the world. If someone wants to have all kinds of happiness and not have to suffer in any way, can that happen?

Some poor helpless people always say about their condition that they have never found peace even in a dream. This is a complete mistake. If you look at someone who is poorer and more helpless than yourself, then the truth is clear. Contentment is a great wealth. Blessed is he who avoids evil. What is the use of getting rich and wasting it in sin? Earn a living honestly and take care of your wife and children so that your destiny will be better.

علم ایک عظیم  قوت ہے۔ علم کے ذریعے ہمیں مادی دولت ہی نہیں روحانی سکون بھی حاصل ہوتا ہے۔ ہمارے مذہب میں علم کا حاصل کرنا ہم پر فرض ہے۔ یہ ایک ایسی دولت ہے جسے کوئی نہیں چرا سکتا۔ علم کے بغیر کوئی انسان اپنی ذات کو بھی نہیں پہچان سکتا، اور یوں ساری زندگی اپنے مقصد 

  حیات سے بے خبر رہتا ہے۔ علم حاصل کر کے انسان اپنی، اپنے معاشرے اور قوم کی بہتری کا سبب بن سکتا ہے۔

Knowledge is a great power. Through knowledge we get not only material wealth but also spiritual peace. In our religion, it is our duty to acquire knowledge. It is a wealth that no one can steal. Without knowledge no human being can even recognize his own self, and thus the whole life remains unaware of his purpose in life. By acquiring knowledge, man can lead to the betterment of himself, his society, and the nation.

 

ملک کے معاشی حالات اس قدر بد ترر ہو چکے ہیں کہ ہمیں بیرونی ممالک سے لیے گئے قرضوں پر انحصار کرنا پڑتا ہے۔ اگرچہ ہمارے ملک میں وسائل کی کوئی کمی نہیں مگر ہماری بد  قسمتی یہ ہے کہ ہم مناسب منصوبہ بندی نہ ہونے کی وجہ سے اپنے وسائل سے خاطر خواہ فائدہ نہیں اٹھا سکتے ۔ بدلتے وقت کے ساتھ ہمیں اس بات پر بھر پور توجہ دینی چاہیے کہ ہم کو اپنے انہی وسائل کو بروئے کار لا کر  اپنے ملک کو دنیا کے ترقی یافتہ ممالک کی صف میں شامل کرواسکتے ہیں۔ جو کہ وقت کا تقاضا بھی ہے اور ہماری اہم ضرورت بھی۔

The country's economic condition has deteriorated to such an extent that we have to rely on foreign loans. Although there is no shortage of resources in our country, our misfortune is that we cannot make the most of our resources due to lack of proper planning. With the changing times, we must pay full attention to the fact that we can use our resources to make our country one of the developed countries of the world. This is a requirement of time as well as our most important need.

یہ سائنس کا زمانہ ہے۔ سائنس کی ایجاد نے ہماری زندگی کو اتنا بدل دیا ہے کہ اگر سو سال پہلے کا انسان کسی شہر میں آ نکلے تو اسے  ہماری دنیا پر جادو نگری کا گمان ہوگا۔  وہی کام جو آج سے کچھ سال پہلے لوگ اپنے ہاتھوں سے کرتے تھے۔ اب بڑی بڑی مشینیں اسی کام کو بڑی خوش اسلوبی سے سر انجام ہے رہی ہیں۔ اسی طرح سفر کے معاملے میں بڑی آسانیاں پیدا ہو گئی ہیں ۔ جو سفر پہلے سالوں اور مہینوں میں طے ہوتا تھا اب وہی دنوں اور گھنٹوں میں طے پا جاتا ہے۔ اب تو انسان چاند پر بھی پہنچ گیا ہے اور وہ دن دور نہیں جب حضرت انسان دوسرے ستاروں پر بھی پہنچ جائے گا۔ کیا خبر کسی دن ہماری دنیا اور دوسرے ستاروں کے درمیان آمد و رفت کا باقاعده سلسلہ شروع ہو جائے۔

 

This is the age of science. Science has changed our life so much that our world will appear to be a magic world to a man belonging to the time one hundred years ago. The work that the people did with hands a few years ago is done well by big machines. Similarly, in matters of traveling, there are many facilities. The distance that took months and years is now covered within days and hours. Now man has reached the moon also. The day is not far when he will have access to the other stars. Who can tell that there will be regular communication between the earth and the other stars?

علامہ اقبال کو مسلمانوں کی غربت کا بہت درد تھا۔ آپ نے ہندوستان کے مسلمانوں کو آزادی حاصل کرنے پر ابھارا۔ آپ نے اپنے اشعار سے قوم میں ایک نئی روح پھونکی۔ آپ نے مسلمانوں کوعمل پر اکسایا۔ آپ کی شاعری امید سے بھری ہے۔ آپ نے ہندوستان کے مسلمانوں کے لیے ایک الگ وطن کے قیام کا مطالبہ کیا۔ 

Allama Iqbal was deeply pained by the poverty of the Muslims. He motivated the Muslims of India to achieve independence. He infused a new spirit into the nation with his poems. He provoked the Muslims to action. His poetry is full of hope. He demanded the establishment of a separate homeland for the Muslims of India.

قائد اعظم مسلمانوں کے عظیم ترین رہنما تھے۔ ان کا نام محمد علی جناح تھا۔ وہ کراچی میں پیدا ہوئے اور سندھ مدرسہ میں پڑھتے رہے۔ وہ ذہین عقلمند اور بہادر تھے۔ انہیں مسلمانوں سے بہت محبت تھی۔ وہ جانتے تھے کہ ہندو مسلمانوں کے دشمن ہیں۔ آزادی کے بعد وہ مسلمانوں کو غلام بنائیں گے ۔ انہوں نے مسلمانوں کے لیے الگ ملک کا مطالبہ کیا۔ پاکستان وجود میں آگیا۔ قائد اعظم پاکستان کوجمہوری ملک بنانا چاہتے تھے۔

 

 

Quaid-e-Azam was the greatest leader of the Muslims. His name was Muhammad Ali Jinnah. He was born in Karachi and studied at the Sindh Madrasa. He was very intelligent and brave. He loved the Muslims very much. He knew that the Hindus were the enemy of the Muslims. After independence the Muslims will be enslaved. He demanded a separate country for the Muslims. Pakistan came into being. Quaid-e-Azam wanted to make Pakistan a democratic country.

 

عظیم لوگوں کی زندگیاں ہمارے لیے نمونہ ہیں۔ ہمیں ان کے نقش قدم پر چلنا چاہیے ۔ انہوں نے دن رات کام کیا ۔ ان ہی کی وجہ سے ہم عزت کی زندگی بسر کررہے ہیں۔ اگر ہمارے بزرگ محنت نہ کرتے تو ہم غلام ہوتے اور آزادی کی نعمت سے محروم ہوتے۔ آج ہم اللہ کے فضل سے آزادی میں سانس لے رہے ہیں ۔

The lives of great people are a model for us. We must follow in their footsteps. They worked day and night. Because of them we are living a life of honor. If our elders had not worked hard, we would have been slaves and deprived of the blessing of freedom. Today, by the grace of Allah Almighty, we are breathing in freedom.

ہمارا کالج گرمی کی تعطیلات کے لیے بند ہو چکا تھا۔ میں نے چند دوستوں کے ساتھ مری میں چھٹیاں گزارنے کا ارادہ کر لیا تھا۔ جب ہم سٹیشن پر پہنچے تو گاڑی آ چکی تھی۔ مسافر ٹکٹ خرید چکے تھےاور پلیٹ فارم پر جمع ہو گئے تھے۔ قلیوں نے ان کا سامان گاڑی کے ڈبے میں رکھ دیا تھا اور بہت سے مسافر گاڑی میں بیٹھ گئے تھے۔ ہمیں بھی جگہ مل گئی اور ہم آرام سے بیٹھ گئے۔ گارڈ نے سبز جھنڈی لہرائی، انجن نے سیٹی بجائی اور چند منٹ میں گاڑی روانہ ہو گئی۔ اس وقت سورج غروب ہو چکا تھا اور چاروں طرف تاریکی چھا گئی تھی۔

Our college had closed for the summer vacation. I had decided to spend the vacation in Murree with some friends. When we reached the station, the train had arrived. Passengers had purchased tickets and gathered on the platform. The porters had put their luggage in the compartments and many passengers were sitting in the cars. We also got a seat and we sat down comfortably. The guard waved the green flag, the engine whistled and the train departed within minutes. At that time, the sun had set and the darkness was all around.

ماں بچے کو گود میں لیے بیٹھی ہے۔ وہ بچے کو دیکھ کر خوش ہو رہی یے۔ بچہ کھیل رہا ہے  اور باپ کا ہاتھ پکڑ کر اپنی طرف کھینچ رہا ہے۔ بچہ مسکراتا ہے تو ماں باپ کا دل باغ باغ ہو جاتا ہے۔ جب وہ رونے لگتا ہے تو دونوں بے چین ہو جاتے ہیں۔ جب بچہ سو جاتا ہے تو ماں اسے بستر پر لٹا دیتی ہے۔ رات کو اپنے پاس سلاتی ہے۔ جب اسے بھوک لگتی ہے تو اسے دودھ پلاتی ہے۔ صبج کو اٹھتی ہے تو اس کا منہ دھوتی ہے۔

The mother is sitting taking the baby in her lap. She is happy to see the baby. The child is playing and holding the father's hand he is pulling it towards him. When the baby smiles, the parents' joy knows no bounds. When he starts to cry, they both become restless. When the baby falls asleep, the mother lays him on the bed. She sleeps him beside her at night. When he is hungry, she feeds him. When she wakes up in the morning, she washes his face.

میری والدہ مجھ سے بہت محبت کرتی ہیں۔ وہ میری صحت کا خیال رکھتی ہیں۔ ایسی خوراک پکاتی ہیں جو میں بہت پسند کرتا ہوں۔ لیکن مجھے زیادہ کھانے سے روکتی ہیں۔ وہ مجھے اچھے اچھے کپڑے دیتی ہیں۔ زیادہ قیمتی کپڑوں کے خلاف ہیں۔ مجھے با قاعدہ کتابیں پڑھاتی ہیں۔ میں انگریزی میں کمزور ہوں۔ میرے لیے انہوں نے ایک استاد صاحب رکھے ہوئے ہیں۔ مجھے پڑھنے کی روز تاکید کرتی ہیں۔ فرصت کے وقت کھیلنے کی اجازت بھی دیتی ہیں۔

My mother loves me very much. She takes care of my health. She cooks such food as I like. But she prevents me from overeating. She provides me with nice clothes. She is against costly clothes. She teaches me regularly. I am weak in English. She has arranged a tutor for me. She exhorts me to study daily. She also allows me to play in leisure hours.

راولپندی میں دو دن قیام کرنے کے بعد ہم مری روانہ ہو گئے۔ سڑک بہت اچھی تھی اور ہم ڈیڑھ گھنٹہ میں مری پہنچ گئے۔ راستے میں ہم نے بہت سے خوبصورت مناظر دیکھے۔ مری میں ہم نے ایک ہوٹل میں قیام کیا۔ موسم بہت خوشگوار تھا۔  بادل آسمان پر چھائے ہوئے تھے۔ ٹھندی ٹھنڈی ہوا چل رہی تھی۔ ہم سب ایک شام لمبی سیر کو نکل گئے۔ چھوٹے چھوٹے بچے گھوڑوں پر سواری کر رہے تھے۔  مال روڈ پر لوگوں کا بڑا

We left for Murree after staying at Rawalpindi for two days. The road was very smooth and we reached Murree in an hour and a half. On the way, we saw many beautiful landscapes. In Murree, we stayed at a hotel/(in a hotel). The weather was very pleasant. The clouds were spreading across the sky. A cool breeze was blowing. One evening, we all went for a long walk. Small children were riding horses. There was a huge crowd of people on Mall Road.
